April 16th, 2003
Mr. Taniguchi reported the high level of expectations for the Consortium from both inside and outside and the high level of attention.
The seminar to commemorate the establishment of the 3D Consortium was held in the Elm Hall of the Sharp Building, Ichigaya, Tokyo on April 16th. Following a commemorative lecture, 3 section meetings were held, the "Technology Section Meeting", "Services/Contents Section Meeting, "Safety/Guidelines Section Meeting" and talks were held regarding the policies and plans for activities this year. After that, the conference was moved to the Grand Building in Ichigaya for participants to exchange business cards and a reception was held.

The broad spectrum of possibilities for 3D expression and the importance of the 3D Consortium's activities were pointed out by each lecturer of the seminar.
Before the section meetings, 3 section meeting chairmen were introduced. From left to right looking at the photo, Mr. Horikoshi, head of services/contents section (NTT Data), Mr. Hamagishi, head of technology section (Sanyo Electrical), Mr. Chiba, head of safety/guidelines section (Sharp)
